Orez was engaged by Living Earth to design and deliver an Organics screening line in Puketutu Island, near Auckland New Zealand.
The system had to fit in and around existing infrastructure and needed to make use of obsolete conveyors, taking ‘recycling’ to another level.
A 15m3 feed hopper with dosing rollers, de-compacts the organics allowing for a constant feed rate of the system. The material passes a ferrous magnet prior to being fed to a 7.8m long drum screen.
The fine material (0-15mm) is screened out and is dropped down in a storage bay directly underneath the drum screen to minimize double handling.
The oversize material is fed to an existing windsifter to remove light plastics before dropping the material into the oversize stockpile.
