Now, with the unveiling of the Corio Road Waste Transfer Station project, this commitment takes a significant leap forward, thanks to the solutions provided by OREZ.
At the core of this project lies a dedication to efficiency, convenience, and sustainability. The Shire of Murray, in partnership with OREZ, has set out to not only streamline waste disposal processes but also to minimise environmental impact and reduce associated costs. The installation of a moving floor and waste compactor marks a significant improvement in efficiency for waste delivery and disposal for the region.
One of the standout features of this upgrade is the twenty-five (25) meter moving floor technology, which simplifies the way waste is handled. The heavy-duty aluminium plank profile is designed and manufactured fit for purpose and capable of withstanding the harsh operating conditions seen in transfer station applications. The moving floor is supported by a 4m3 stationary compactor, capable of moving up to 240m3 per hour.
Gone are the days of cumbersome skip bins and the risks associated with manual handling. The moving floor provides a seamless transition for waste from vehicles or trailers, eliminating fall-from-height hazards and making the process safer and more user-friendly for residents
Moreover, the benefits extend beyond mere convenience. By compacting waste onsite, the Shire of Murray can now transport materials more efficiently, significantly reducing vehicle movements, emissions, and freight costs. This not only aligns with environmental objectives but also frees up resources that can be redirected towards other essential services within the community.
Furthermore, the solution offers up to 60m3 of holding capacity during peak times, ensuring that the facility can accommodate the needs of the community without compromising on efficiency or effectiveness. Additionally, the opportunity for direct resource recovery from the floor presents a valuable avenue for waste reduction and recycling efforts, minimising the amount of material lost to landfill.
